Look who's here : 이게 누구야!

친한 사람을 예상치 못한 장소에서 만났을 때 하는 말입니다. 놀라움과 반가움을 동시에 나타내는 표현이죠.

What a small world : 세상 참 좁다

간단하게 small world라고도 합니다.

• 반가워. 세상 참 좁구나. Good to see you. What a small world.

 

Long time no see : 오랜만이다

전화할 때는 see가 아니라 talk로 바꿔서 말한다.

• 오랜만이야 어떻게 지냈어? Long time no see. How have you been?

 

Be doing great : 잘 지내고 있다

1. be doing fine
• I'm doing fine.
2. Great!

• 잘 지내고 있어. 넌 하나도 안 변했구나. I'm doing great. You haven't changed a bit.

 

How have you been? : 그동안 어떻게 지냈어?

일반적으로 자주 만나는 사이일 땐 How are you doing? 요즘 어때?

• 야, 잭! 그동안 어떻게 지냈어? Hi, Jack? How have you been?
  그럭저럭 지냈어. 늘 똑같지 뭐. Can't complain. Same as usual.

 

Haven't changed a bit : 하나도 안 변했다

현재완료시제로 만난지 오래 됐음을 의미. 너 하나도 안 변했어, 하나도 안 늙었다.

반) you have changed a lot

• 존! 너 하나도 안 변했다. John! You haven't changed a bit.
  정말? 넌 정말 많이 변했는데. Really? You have changed a lot.

 

Say hello to sb : ~에게 안부를 전하다

Hello 대신에 regards or best

1. Give one's reards to sb
• Give my regards to your mother.
2. Give one's best to sb
• Give my best to your father.

• 이제 가 봐야겠어요. 아버지께 안부 전해 주세요. I have to go now. Say hello to your father.
  그럴게요. 나중에 봐요. OK, I will. See you around.

• 대화 즐거웠어. 와이프한테 안부 전해 줘. Nice talking to you. Say hello to your wife.

 

Catch you later : 다음에 보자

1. See you later
2. See you round.

• 나중에 봐. 내가 연락할게. Catch you later. I'll keep in touch.

 

Keep in touch : 연락하다

1. Keep in touch with sb : ~와 연락하다.
2. Stay in touch with sb

• 만나서 반가웠어요. 또 봤으면 좋겠다. Nice meeting you. Hope to see you again.
  몸조심하고 연락할게. Take care and I'll keep in touch with you.
